Eight NDHP troopers receive assignments

BISMARCK — Eight new recruits successfully completed the North Dakota Highway Patrol Academy and Field Training and are now sworn N.D. Highway Patrol troopers stationed throughout the state. This batch of recruits began training in September 2022, and three of them are assigned to duty stations in the northwest corner.

Trooper Brady Aberle, Williston, is a graduate of the University of North Dakota with a degree in business marketing and was assigned to the duty station in Williston.

Trooper Justin Cote-Kanning, Bottineau, was assigned duty to the Stanley duty station. Cote-Kanning is a graduate of Minot State University with a degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining NDHP, he served in the McLean County Sheriff’s Department and worked as an EMT with the Community Ambulance Service and the Garrison Ambulance Service.

Trooper Camron McFarland, Donnybrook, was assigned to the duty station in Rolla. McFarland has a degree in biology from Minot State University. He previously served in the military and worked in corrections.

The other troopers sworn in and given assignments were Trooper John Bartlette assigned to Jamestown, and Trooper Austin Erickson assigned to Grafton, Trooper Abe Johannes and Trooper Benjamin Wenger.
