Closing one of life’s chapters for another

Eloise Ogden/MDN Lt. Col. Hyral “Buddy” Walker Jr., chaplain at Minot Air Force Base, selected the Dakota Territory Air Museum in Minot for his Air Force retirement ceremony held there on Wednesday. Walker, also a civilian pilot, has been active in the local community, including in the aviation community. It was the first time a military retirement ceremony had been held at the air museum. Walker, at right, is shown beside retired Lt. Gen. Walter “Buck” Buchanan, presiding officer for the ceremony from Virginia. Also shown are, from the left, Senior Airman Oseas Lopez, proffer (stage), originally from California, and Tech. Sgt. Cassandra Woodard, narrator, originally from Texas. Walker, originally from Texas, served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years with assignments worldwide. A World War II P-40E Warhawk served as the backdrop for the ceremony.
