Park district names new director
Elly DesLauriers was selected by the Minot Park Board Friday as the district’s new executive director. She will begin her duties May 1.
DesLauriers joined the park district in July 2013 as director of Development and Marketing, a position that has enabled her to be involved in multiple aspects of park district administration. She has contributed through grant writing, marketing efforts, parks development, capital campaigns and other fundraising. She has worked with all facets of the district, from parks and the zoo to facilities such as Maysa Arena.
She will replace current executive director Ron Merritt, who officially steps down at the end of May.
t“Ron has done such a great job and has our park district in such a great position that it’s really big shoes to fill. So my goal is to keep moving forward, keep striving to improve the quality of life for all of our citizens, DesLauriers said. “For me, personally, this is where my family lives, works and plays, so it’s a dream job to be able to continue to help develop our community and make it a better place for everybody who lives here.”
