Minot Daily, Marketplace bingo winner receives $1,000 prize

David Fredriksen was on the road to help prepare the Trash 2 Treasure Rummage Sale in Bottineau last Thursday when he got the call informing him that he had won the Marketplace Foods and The Minot Daily News third annual bingo contest.

After driving more than 100 miles to confirm his winning bingo, Fredriksen turned back around to assist with the event he and his wife have participated in for more than 15 years. The biannual rummage sale was held at the Bottineau Armory on April 21 and 22, with all proceeds going to support the Family Crisis Center in Bottineau.

A second rummage sale will be held at the end of the summer. Fredriksen and his son Silas, 8, stopped by Marketplace Foods on 1930 S. Broadway on Wednesday to receive two $500 gift cards. Silas said he hoped to spend his share of the winnings on a lifetime supply of Zingers snack cakes.
