NEW TOWN – Firefighters were battling an oil well pad fire Friday, according to the Mountrail County Emergency Management Agency and the Williston Fire Department, which was called in to assist. Williams County/Williston Emergency Management also was coordinating specialty resources, such as the Hazardous Materials Response Team.

The incident included multiple storage tanks on the site near New Town. No further details were available Friday evening.
