Woman receives deferred sentence

Alisa Marie Greene, 31, Minot, received a deferred imposition of sentence for two years of supervised probation on Tuesday on a reduced charge of Class A misdemeanor contributing to the deprivation of a minor. She had originally been charged with Class C felony child neglect.

She had been accused of failing to be home when a child was dropped off by a school bus on Oct. 1, 2021. According to court documents, Greene arrived home about two hours later. She explained she had been delayed by construction and her phone had run out of minutes.

Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Greene to take a parenting class that has been approved by the Ward County Human Service Zone and file proof of enrollment with the court and to pay $625 in court costs. The A misdemeanor charge will eventually be dismissed if she complies with all court conditions.
