Christopher Alan Vickerman, 32, Minot, is scheduled to be resentenced on Dec. 19 for the murder of his father on May 10, 2019.

The North Dakota Supreme Court has upheld Vickerman’s murder conviction but ruled last month that North Central District Court Judge Doug Mattson must re-sentence him. Mattson had originally sentenced Vickerman to 100 years in prison, with 20 years suspended. The Supreme Court ruled that this sentence is improper and Mattson must include a calculation of Vickerman’s remaining life expectancy using the mandated mortality table when he imposes the new sentence.
