The month of October had total moisture of 1.07 inches. That, according to Austin Kraklau, of the North Central Research Extension Center, south of Minot, is the same as the long-term average of 1.07 inches.

The average temperature for the month was 45.5 degrees. Kraklau said this was 1.6 degrees warmer than the 115-year, long-term average of 43.9 degrees.

He said the lowest temperature of the month was 21 degrees on Oct. 18 and the high was 74 degrees on Oct. 1.

The weather is expected to change briefly this week with a slight chance of snow on Thursday and then return to sunny or partly sunny daytimes until another slight chance of rain/snow Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime temperatures will reach the 70s today and then drop to lower temperatures for the rest of the week.
