Man sentenced for possession of drugs in jail
Quantdre Octavious Mersier, 29, Minot, was sentenced on Thursday to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the 42 days he already served in the Ward County Jail, and one year of supervised probation for Class B felony possession of a controlled substance within a correctional facility on Sept. 16. The offense will be deemed a Class A misdemeanor if Mersier successfully completes probation.
Mersier was also ordered to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $775 in court costs.
He will receive credit for six days off of his sentence for good behavior in the Ward County Jail.
Mersier also received a concurrent sentence for Class A misdemeanor providing false information to law enforcement.
