SURREY — The Surrey Fire Department has received a $5,000 donation from the Aggie Foundation and the Big Dog Saloon that will be used to upgrade equipment for the organization.

“The donation, made possible by Big Dog Saloon, will help us buy new radios to replace our soon to be outdated ones,” said Seth Bartholomay, assistant chief for the Surrey department in a news release. “We really appreciate the continued support we receive from our small-town community.”

The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling its missions in North Dakota.

“Firefighters are vital parts of our community,” said Terry Peterson, Aggie Foundation Board president. “We are proud to support our local emergency services in an effort to make sure our community is safe.”

The Surrey Fire Department has been working to revamp its efforts since an election in 2021 seated a new chief and assistant chief. Those efforts include upgrading equipment and gaining access to more gear to better serve the community. The department also received a $2,000 donation for equipment last October from the partnership between Aggie Foundation and Big Dog Saloon.
