Sen. John Hoeven joined all 50 Senate Republicans in introducing a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act seeking to nullify the Biden Administration’s National Environmental Policy Act regulation revisions.

In a news release, Hoeven declared that the new rules enacted by the White House Council on Environmental Quality add “onerous requirements” to the federal permitting process, which he contends will cause delays for infrastructure projects.

“The 2020 NEPA regulations issued under the Trump administration significantly reduced the permitting process timeline, and now is not the time for additional bureaucratic regulations that will slow down projects that can help get American’s back to work,” Hoeven said.
