A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday for the Minot State University Summer Theatre, which has been newly renovated.

“We’re just really excited to have you all come out and see what it looks like right now,” said MSU Summer Theatre director Chad Gifford.

Rick Hedberg, vice president for advancement and MSU Development Foundation executive director, said the $2.8 million project has been completed with funds raised privately and it has been a long process.

Phase Two of the project was completed last summer and includes renovation of the bathrooms, ticket office, dressing rooms, and office space, along with a new plaza, drive-through, and lower-level concessions.

The first play of the season, “Something Rotten,” is running this week.

Tickets are available for Season 57 at MinotStateU.edu/theatre or by calling the ticket line at 858-3228.
