Heather Renee Faith Hoffman, 24, Minot Air Force Base, waived a preliminary hearing that had been scheduled for Thursday and entered a not guilty plea to the murder of her ex-boyfriend in Minot in April.

Hoffman is accused of shooting Alexander Eckert, 22, to death on April 21 in Minot. The former couple had reportedly had a custody dispute.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Aug. 31 before Judge Gary Lee.
