JayQwan De’Maine King, 24, Minot, is charged with Class C felony preventing arrest and Class C felony assault on a peace officer in district court in Minot.

King allegedly resisted arrest for detox and kicked a Minot police officer in the forehead early Thursday morning. Police had responded to the Lamplighter Bar after receiving a report that King was intoxicated and had been disruptive and made verbal threats.

King was scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charges on Thursday before Judge Gary Lee.
