State seeks comments on permit renewal

KENMARE — The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality is seeking public input on a proposed five-year permit renewal for the Kenmare wastewater treatment facility.

The reapplication is for a three-cell waste stabilization pond system which services the city of Kenmare. The facility has been operational since 1985 and received its last permit renewal in July 2017.

Information is available at https://deq.nd.gov/PublicCommentTips.aspx.

Comments or requests should be directed to the N.D. Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Water Quality, 4201 Normandy St., Bismarck, ND 58503-1324 or by calling 328-5210.

All comments received by June 22 will be considered prior to finalizing the permit. If there is significant interest, a public hearing will be scheduled. Otherwise, the department will issue the final permit within 60 days.
