City Serve ND to kick off week-long community outreach project

The Pursuit Church in Minot is set to kick off a week-long community outreach program called City Serve ND. The program began in 2021 as a one-day event, with members of the church going out into the community to fulfill community needs, share the love of Christ and help with service projects.

This year’s program will be a full week, starting Tuesday May 31, until June 4. The Pursuit of Minot along with nine other area churches have gathered 500 volunteers to perform service projects all over Minot.

Cindy Stock, outreach coordinator for The Pursuit Church, was hopeful last year when the church had a goal of having 10 churches join the church’s community outreach program in three to four years. One year later the goal exceeded their expectations. Now in 2022, The Pursuit Church has 14 churches involved statewide and anticipate growing every year.

Volunteers will be doing laundromat ministry, meals on wheels, freezer meals for fire stations and EMS, detailing police cars, building storage shelves and sorting donations for Project Bee, youth zoo clean up, Oak Park landscaping, Dream Catcher baseball games and activity assistance, pot decor and planting for nursing homes, and oil changes at Harley’s Arrowhead Conoco.

The goal for City Serve ND 2022 is “Ministry and serving others,” Stock said. For more information visit cityservend.org or call The Pursuit Church at 389-2769.
