Power outage caused by downed wire near substation
About 7,453 Xcel Energy customers in parts of Minot, Berthold, Burlington and Des Lacs experienced a power outage on Tuesday beginning at about 1:32 p.m.
Xcel Energy officials said the outage was caused by a wire down near a substation, and protective equipment operated to isolate the fault.
The power was restored to about 3,778 customers at 2:10 p.m., then to 2,725 more customers at 2:12 p.m. and the remaining customers’ power was restored at 2:16 p.m.
