Classes in the Minot Public Schools are canceled today. Superintendent Mark Vollmer said Tuesday that school administrators will be deciding whether to also call off classes on Thursday.

Vollmer said earlier that the district’s building and grounds employees will also be prepared to move snow, but the snow that comes with an April blizzard will be wet and heavy and hard to move, unlike snow that falls in January.

“The cleanup will be extensive,” said Vollmer.

Minot State University made the decision to cancel classes after 12:15 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday and Thursday. No classes were scheduled on Friday because of the upcoming Easter break.
