A historic blizzard had dumped close to a foot of snow on the Minot region as of 8 a.m. Tuesday. Austin Kraklau of the North Central Research Center, south of Minot, reported Wednesday morning that he had recorded 11½ inches of snow and 1.58 inches of moisture as of 8 a.m. at the center. Snow also fell heavily Wednesday. The blizzard caused school and other cancellations and business closures.
No travel has been advised in the Minot region. The weather forecast predicted another foot of snow could fall on Minot Wednesday, with an additional five inches predicted Wednesday evening and Thursday.
