ND Democrats endorse six

The North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party endorsed six candidates at its state convention in Minot Saturday. The executive committee continues to seek candidates to fill ballot positions for secretary of state and tax commissioner.

Endorsed for U.S. Senate was Katrina Christiansen of Jamestown. She holds a doctorate degree in agricultural engineering and biorenewable resource technology and currently works in higher education at the University of Jamestown.

Mark Haugen of Bismarck received the endorsement for U.S. House. Haugen, who works in academic support at the University of Mary in Bismarck, previously ran for state treasurer in 2020.

Attorney Tim Lamb of Grand Forks received the endorsement for Attorney General. A graduate of the University of North Dakota, he has practiced law in the state since 2010.

Retired attorney Fintan Dooley of Bismarck received the endorsement for agriculture commissioner.

Melanie Moniz, a Twin Buttes organizer, received the endorsement for the six-year Public Service Commission position, and Trygve Hammer, a Velva educator, received the endorsement for the four-year Public Service Commission position.
