Hometown Pride Scholarship applications due by March 31

Minot State University’s inaugural Hometown Pride Scholarship application deadline for fall 2022 is March 31, according to information from MSU.

High school seniors from 15 counties in northwest North Dakota are eligible to apply for the $1,000 Hometown Pride Scholarship.

MSU’s general scholarship deadline was the middle of February, but the Hometown Pride Scholarship is a separate incentive for area students and does not require the standard form, according to MSU. If students submit all required materials by March 31 and meet the eligibility standards including a 2.75 unweighted GPA or higher on official high school transcripts and meet the North Dakota University System core requirements, the student will receive the additional $1,000.

In conjunction with the Hometown Pride Scholarship for first-year freshman, MSU is planning an opportunity for incoming transfer students from the same Northwest North Dakota region. MSU’s “First Class Free” promotion will launch April 1 for the fall 2022 semester for students transferring from any four-year or two-year institution.
