Day to honor Vietnam veterans

Miller served from 1969-70 at Chu Lai, South Vietnam; Benjamin from 1968-69 at Duc Pho; and Anderson from November 1969-November 1970 with the 25th Division.

Vietnam veterans from Minot and the area got together on Tuesday at the Grand Hotel in Minot for the 10th Annual Vietnam Veterans Celebration.

The event is hosted by the Minot Vet Center and held in conjunction with National Vietnam War Veterans Day.

Hiedi Miller, director of the Minot Vet Center and an Army National Guard veteran, was guest speaker, Vietnam veteran Louis “Mac” McLeod served as emcee for the program, and Andy Heitkamp, Army National Guard veteran, Vietnam commemoration.

VFW Post 753, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4, American Legion Post 26, Grand Hotel, Cookies for You, and other volunteers participated in the event.
