Amanda Oster, Minot, sentenced to 18 months for intent to deliver methamphetamine
Amanda Margaret Oster, 33, was sentenced last month to five years in prison, with a requirement that she serve 18 months, followed by three years of supervised probation for Class B felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in December 2020 in Minot. She received a concurrent sentence of three years, with a requirement that she serve 18 months, for Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge Doug Mattson gave her credit for 42 days already served. He also ordered her to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $575 in court costs.
The Ward County Narcotics Task Force had staked out Oster’s trailer in search of a known fugitive who had reportedly been standing outside it, according to court documents. They spotted signs of drug trafficking and obtained permission to search Oster’s trailer from her probation officer. The task force entered her trailer and found the methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.
