Christopher James Reiter, 40, Minot, is accused of resisting arrest and of biting a Minot police officer who was trying to place him under arrest on Monday.

Reiter is charged with Class C felony simple assault on an officer and Class A misdemeanor resisting arrest in district court in Minot.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Minot police had received a report that Reiter was passed out in a pickup in the parking lot outside Arny’s Lounge & Bottle Shop in southeast Minot. They made contact with Reiter, who appeared to be impaired, and Reiter allegedly physically resisted when an officer tried to handcuff him and bit the other officer. Reiter was taken to the hospital to be checked out and then taken to jail. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charge on Wednesday in district court.
