Entrepreneurship panel to be held Nov. 30 at MSU

Area entrepreneurs will share their experiences from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, in Room 308 at Minot State University’s Old Main.

Panelists include Blaine Finneseth, of Finny Photography in Bismarck; Kaitlin Feist, of Michele F., a jewelry and boutique in Minot; and David Turnbell, of DMI Entertainment, a DJ and karaoke business. They will also field questions from the audience during the presentation, which is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Georgie Dietz, an MSU senior, organized the panel as part of an internship in entrepreneurship with Tracey Mays, an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship/Management.

Dietz is pursuing a certificate in entrepreneurship. Mays said the university also offers a major and a minor in entrepreneurship and looks for partnerships with businesses in the Minot community. She obtained a grant for the Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Program that funds the student internship.

Every semester, the Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Program hosts a panel featuring entrepreneurs that is organized by the student intern, said Mays.

Dietz, from Velva, said she knows a couple of the panelists and made contact with Turnbell, who is a veteran, through social media and arranged for them to be part of the program. Dietz also manages the program’s Facebook page, which is giving her valuable experience in marketing.
