Child neglect charge dismissed against Nathaniel Bishop; pre-trial diversion agreement for Brittany Bishop
Court records show that the state has dismissed a Class C felony child neglect charge and a Class A misdemeanor violation of a no contact order against Nathaniel Bishop, 25, of Minot Air Force Base, because the Air Force has taken jurisdiction over the case. In a related case, Brittany Yvonne Bishop, 23, has entered into a pre-trial diversion agreement with the court on a Class C felony child neglect charge for six months, which means that charge will eventually be dismissed against her if she complies with all court conditions such as continuing to cooperate with Ward County Social Services and taking any required parenting classes. Brittany Bishop has pleaded not guilty to the charge and maintains her innocence.
The charges stemmed from an incident on May 4 in which a 6-year-old girl had allegedly been left unattended at a Minot apartment. The adults contested the prosecution’s version of the events.
