Justin Arneson, Minot, sentenced to 36 days time served, 2 years probation, for burglary

Justin Zane Sean Arneson, 18, Minot, was sentenced on Oct. 7 to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the 36 days he already served in the Ward County Jail, and two years of supervised probation for a Class B felony burglary charge. The charge will be reduced to a Class A misdemeanor on his record if he successfully completes probation. Judge Doug Mattson also ordered Arneson to pay $775 in court costs and to have no contact with the victim.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the owner of the home was incarcerated elsewhere last month. Arneson told police that he knew she was in jail and had gone to her house to get his property back. Arneson said the woman was in possession of baseball cards and other property that belonged to him. The owner of the home told police that the items that Arneson took belong to her and she wanted him charged with burglary.
