One dead, another injured in crash at State Fairgrounds

A man died and a woman was injured when the Polaris off-road vehicle they were riding on and driving through a parking lot at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds struck a parked car early Sunday. Both are from Mandan.

According to the N.D. Highway Patrol the Polaris was going south through the parking lot when it swerved and struck an unoccupied parked 2019 Hyundai Elantra car. The Polaris overturned and the driver and passenger were ejected. The drive suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Trinity Hospital in Minot. Both occupants of the Polaris were not using restraints. The crash occurred at 12:40 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation by the N.D. Highway Patrol.
