LaSamuel Richardson III, Williston, sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for felon in possession of firearm

LaSamuel Richardson III, 32, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release on a federal charge of felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Richardson was found guilty at a jury trial in February.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Richardson was indicted after law enforcement received a report of indecent exposure in front of a Fargo residence on Jan. 4, 2019. A woman reported that a man was masturbating in a car outside her residence. Officers couldn’t locate the vehicle but Richardson became a suspect when a neighbor spotted Richardson’s car outside the residence three days later.

Richardson had previously pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in Fargo in 2010, according to state court records. He also has a lengthy criminal record in that jurisdiction.

Police located Richardson and a search of his vehicle turned up an AR-15 rifle and 35 rounds of .223 ammunition, all of which Richardson was not permitted to have.
