Kamauri Kennedy to be charged with murder of Domonique Kelley

Minot police said Friday they plan to charge Kamauri Saeed Kennedy, 32, with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the June 3 death of Domonique Kelley, 33, of Minot, who was found deceased in a burning vehicle. After she was discovered, a residence that was associated with Kennedy in Minot was deliberately burned. Kennedy is believed to have left Minot in a gray 2013 Chrysler 300. The Chrysler was later located, abandoned, in the Minneapolis area and had also been burned. Kennedy has not been located but was last known to be in Detroit, Michigan.

Kennedy is described as a black male, approximate 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call local police or the Minot Police Department at 701-852-0111 or Crime Stoppers at 701-852-7463. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. They should reference Case No. 21-15675 when making the call.

Kennedy had previously been described as a person of interest in the case.

According to court documents, Kennedy is on federal probation for charges related to a smash and grab robbery at an Atlanta, Ga., jewelry store in 2013. He had been allowed to return to Michigan after serving a prison sentence and was still supposed to be living there and wasn’t allowed to leave Michigan. However, Minot police informed his probation officer on June 7 that Kennedy has been living in Minot since November 2020.
