Friends set up Go Fund Me page to help family of murder victim with funeral expenses
Go Fund Me accounts have been set up by family and friends of murder victim Arnalyn Repalam, 29, to pay to transport her remains back to her native Philippines for burial and to help support Repalam’s 8-year-old son. One page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-for-a-friends-dead -body-to-be-home, set up by a friend, had raised $14,904 by 595 donors of a requested $50,000 as of Thursday.
Repalam’s boyfriend, Eric Clayton Venn, 41, has been charged with Class AA felony murder in district court in Minot and is accused of shooting her to death on Sunday in Minot. The woman had allegedly been abused by Venn before her death. A prosecutor said Venn had committed domestic violence against Repalam on Saturday and, on Sunday, bought ammunition for his gun and then shot her multiple times a few hours later. She was taken to the hospital but died a short time later. Venn is in custody at the Ward County Jail. A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for Aug. 19.
Venn and Repalam had also operated the Filipino Online Retail and Wholesale Store in Minot, a business that sold goods from the Philippines online. According to court documents, Venn told police that his personal and business relationships with Repalam had been going downhill.
The Manila Bulletin in the Philippines reported Monday that Repalam’s family said the couple had fought and Repalam had told them she wanted to break up with Venn.
