Cody Degenstein, Velva, charged with burglary
Cody Carl Degenstein, 32, Velva, is charged in district court in Minot with burglarizing a home that belonged to a deceased man, a Class C felony, on May 14.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, a man who was preparing the residence for sale told authorities that he noticed a washer and dryer were missing from the residence. He later noticed a refrigerator had also been taken from the residence. The man contacted police when he saw the stolen refrigerator for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The man told police he had left the residence unlocked and he wasn’t sure when the items had been stolen.
Further investigation led to charging Degenstein.
Degenstein was scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charge on Monday.
