MACEDC hires economic development specialist

The Minot Area Chamber Economic Development Corp. has named Mark Lyman as its economic development specialist. Lyman brings nearly 20 years of community marketing, public relations, communications and leadership experience to the role.

Lyman will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of economic development programs while strategically supporting the Minot Area Chamber EDC’s mission of business attraction, retention, expansion and advocacy, according to MACEDC.

“I am proud to bring my many years of community experience, ability and insight into this new position for regional economic development,” Lyman said. “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Minot Area Chamber Economic Development Corporation and am looking forward to working hand-in-hand with community partners and leaders to retain businesses, help our area expand and attract new companies and employees to the Minot area.”

“With Mark in this role we expect to strengthen our focus on business retention and expansion, new business attraction, and continuing our advocacy, communication and outreach,” said L. John MacMartin, MACEDC president.

Lyman’s background includes most recently serving as business manager for an energy company. He holds a master’s degree in management from Minot State University.

The MACEDC is a nonprofit organization formed with the Jan. 1 merger of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce and the Minot Area Development Corp.
