Kerviona Bailey, Minot, arrested on terrorizing, prostitution charges

Minot police arrested Kerviona LaJoyce Bailey, 31, on Tuesday in connection with the stabbing of a 65-year-old Minot man at a northwest Minot hotel on June 17.

Bailey’s boyfriend, Timothy Lee Hagan, 38, was arrested earlier and has been charged with Class A felony attempted murder, Class A felony kidnapping with intent to terrorize, Class A felony kidnapping for ransom or reward, Class C felony terrorizing, Class C felony terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, and Class C felony aggravated assault. He is in custody at the Ward County Jail on $750,000 cash or corporate surety bond. A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for July 19 before Judge Stacy Louser.

Bailey is facing charges of Class A felony kidnapping, Class A felony kidnapping with intent to terrorize, Class C felony terrorizing, Class C felony felonious restraint, and class B misdemeanor prostitution. She is in custody at the jail on outstanding warrants and is awaiting an initial appearance on the newest charges.

According to police and a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the 65-year-old man had arranged to meet Bailey and pay her to have sex with him in a room at the hotel. At some point there was an altercation and Hagan blocked a doorway, threatened to kill the other man and brandished a knife. The alleged victim put Hagan in a headlock. During the struggle, the alleged victim was stabbed in the neck, head, upper back, and lower back. The two men ended up on the floor during the struggle. Bailey brandished a semi-automatic pistol and then pulled the trigger twice while pointing the gun at the chest of the alleged victim. The alleged victim did not hear anything when Bailey pulled the trigger. Bailey, Hagan and another woman then ran from the hotel room. The alleged victim ran out of the room, went to a neighbor’s room, banged on the door and asked for help. He was taken to Trinity Hospital and underwent surgery for up to five stab wounds.
