The state has dismissed a luring a minor by computer charge against Randy Emmet Kramer, 65, of Granville for lack of sufficient evidence.

Kramer had been charged with the Class C felony offense in March in district court in Burke County. He had been arrested Feb. 26 as the result of a month-long sting operation by the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. According to court documents, Kramer had been accused of having a graphic conversation with someone he believed to be a 15-year-old boy.

Judge Richard Hagar signed the order of dismissal on May 12.
