RYDER - Most of the loop track has been completed and the bottom portion of the grain bins was poured recently at the site of a shuttle grain terminal being built at Ryder.
The project is being built by Tri-Gen Ag Partners LLC, a newly formed LLC, consisting of Agrex Inc. of Minneapolis and a cooperative consisting of Plaza-Makoti Equity elevator merging with Max Farmers Elevator.
Chris Wetzell of Agrex Inc., said Northern Plains Rail Service (NPR) has finished nearly 9,000 feet of the loop track and the remaining portion will be wrapped up in late spring once the elevator is poured. He said there will be 10,000 total feet of loop track with the ability to load 140 rail cars.
He said the mat, the bottom portion of the grain bins, was poured two weeks ago.
The project is on schedule.
"We expect the elevator bins to be poured the first week of May and millwright and electrical crews will come in shortly after to finish the project," Wetzell said.
Vigen Construction Inc., the general contractor, is from East Grand Forks, Minn., and Northern Plains Rail Co. is from Fordville.
"TriGen is anticipating taking new crop grain at the facility and is excited to announce we have recently hired Morgan Hall as a grain originator/merchandiser to better serve our customer needs," Wetzell said.
Canadian Pacific Railway provides rail service to the area.
Construction on the project began last fall at the site on the west side of N.D. Highway 28 and north side of Ward County Road 22 at Ryder.
