The Minot area Classical Conversations community recognized nine Foundations students (ages 9 through 11) with the high honor of Memory Master on April 9 during the End of Year Celebration.

Those awarded were, Addyson and Emma Myers daughters of Josh and Kristy Myers, Kelcie Poe daughter of Nathan and Shavon Poe, Justin Pranzo son of Jason and Jana Pranzo, Avery Sargent daughter of Brock and Meg Sargent, Asher Skjervem son of Jason and Kassidy Skjervem, Cecelia and Emilia Thompson daughters of Dave and Julianne Thompson, and Kaylin Vert daughter of Chris and Katie Vert.

Classical Conversations homeschool communities (PreK-12th grade) are thriving in 47 countries and all 50 U.S. states. The organization now has more than 125,000 students enrolled in its tutoring programs, which are provided by 2,500 licensed communities. Classical Conversations also provides a Christian community for families, while empowering, encouraging, and equipping home educators.

At the end of the year, students who wish to earn Memory Master status must recite verbatim the following seven subjects which they memorized over 24 weeks together. For each hopeful, four different adult leaders on separate occasions must confirm complete mastery of:

– 161 events and people in a chronological timeline

– 24 history sentences with dates that add depth to the timeline

– 45 U.S. Presidents, in order

– 120 geographic features and locations in North America

– 24 Science Facts; including the first 12 elements of the periodic table and parts of 8 human body systems

– 8 Verses of John 1 in Latin along with the English translation

– 11 Irregular Verb Conjugations; along with other English grammar facts

– Multiplication tables to 15×15, as well as common squares and cubes, basic geometry formulas, and unit conversions.
