Hoeven and Senate colleagues, AF chief of staff and commander of Global Strike Command at Minot AFB today

Sen. John Hoeven and a bipartisan group of Senate colleagues joined Gen. Charles Brown, U.S. Air Force chief of staff, and Gen. Timothy Ray, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, for a review today, April 30, of Minot Air Force’s dual nuclear missions.

The 5th Bomb Wing has the B-52 bombers. The 91st Missile Wing has Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles in underground facilities located in several counties.

Other senators in the bipartisan group include Senators Angus King (I-Maine), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa).

The group will also visit the nuclear mission at Offutt AFB, Neb.

Hoeven is a member of the Defense Appropriations Committee.

On Monday, Hoeven will host Lt. Gen. Michael Loh, director of the Air National Guard, along with North Dakota Adjutant General Alan Dohrmann at Hector Field in Fargo, where they will review the 119th Wing’s Reaper missions and efforts to establish a new operations center.
