The Pursuit Church to launch second campus

In November of 2020 in response to COVID-19 guidelines, The Pursuit Church in Minot opened six locations called Outposts. These Outposts enabled the church to continue its vision of helping people discover a life-changing relationship with Jesus while accommodating people who wanted to gather in-person in smaller groups. In addition to watching a pre-recorded video sermon, each Outpost had its own worship team, campus host, and other team members.

Tom Foisy, lead pastor, said, “The smaller format opened up opportunities for people in our church to take greater ownership of their local church. Many people started serving for the first time, and others took on more significant leadership roles. We also discovered that the smaller environment made it easier for people who might be intimidated by our larger gatherings at the main location to come and worship with us.”

As the community has slowly started re-gathering in larger numbers, the Outposts have been returning to the main building, with a complete return scheduled for Easter.

However, based on the response of Minot residents to the Outposts, The Pursuit congregation has felt led by God to open a long-term Downtown Campus. Recently, the church leadership was granted access by All Saints Episcopal Church, 301 S. Main St., to hold services on Sundays, beginning Easter Sunday, April 4.

Foisy said, “We are excited to be meeting in the All Saints Episcopal Church building. The historic building is not only beautiful, but it also has a long history of ministering to the people of downtown Minot. We hope to continue this legacy by sharing the hope of Jesus with the downtown community (and beyond), but with a Pursuit twist.”

The Downtown Campus will hold two services on Sunday mornings, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Services will continue at the main Minot Campus (8:30 a.m, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m), Stanley Campus (9:30 am) and online livestream (Facebook and Youtube, Sundays at 10 a.m).
