Mask policy to remain in place in the Minot Public Schools

The Minot school board decided that students, teachers and staff should continue to wear masks while attending schools.

Superintendent Mark Vollmer said Minot was the only large school system in the state that has held in-person classes all year round in part thanks to the masks. Kids who have been exposed to the coronavirus do not have to go into quarantine if both people were wearing masks at all times. Vollmer said the policy means that the district can discuss holding events like the prom or graduation.

“This is a success story,” he said.

The school board voted unanimously Thursday to continue the policy.
