The Minot High School-Central Campus Playmakers will present the play “Last Day of School” by Ian McWethy Thursday through Saturday, at 7:30 p.m., at the Central Campus Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens, and $8 for students. Tickets will be available at the door. Masks are required for members of the audience and social distancing will be encouraged.

Director Kevin Neuharth describes the play as a “multi-scene comedy (which) covers the memories and regrets of this newest class of high school graduates.”

“In this particular play each one of my actors plays two different roles,” said Neuharth.

The production begins with a narrator who, in the course of reading the daily announcements, says she’s going to play the song “Mr. Robot” and it will drive people crazy. Then, in a series of different vignettes, different graduating seniors all do something they have never done before but have always regretted not doing, such as going on a date, asking someone out, or speaking their piece to a teacher.

“There are some nice, touching moments,” said Neuharth. “There should be a few laughs.”

He said it has been nice to see students who have never been on stage before grow from this experience.

He chose the play because of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Limited numbers of actors have had to be on stage at one time.

Auditions are underway for a musical production of “Little Shop of Horrors” which is scheduled to be presented at the end of April. This will be a joint production of Minot High School-Magic City Campus and Minot High School-Central Campus.
