PARSHALL - EOG Resources reported Sunday that 12,600 gallons of produced water and 2,100 gallons of crude oil were released at a well site about three miles northwest of Parshall that day.
The release was "due to an equipment failure within containment on location."
The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of the spill at the Parshall 52-1114H well. At the time of reporting all product had been recovered, state officials said.
A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to location and will monitor the investigation and any continued remediation.
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) was notified on Tuesday of a crude oil spill resulting from a pipeline fracture in Dunn County. The pipeline is operated by Bridger Pipeline, LLC. The incident occurred about 11 miles northwest of Killdeer on Tuesday.
Bridger Pipeline, LLC estimated that about 10,500 gallons of crude oil were released. Of this amount, about 420 gallons migrated off the pad, impacting rangeland.
Personnel from the NDDEQ are inspecting the site and will continue to monitor the investigation and remediation.
