Elmcroft residents, staff receive vaccines

By Jill Schramm 1 min read

The vaccination of about 75 staff and residents at Elmcroft of Minot on Saturday was a major step forward for long-term care in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The vaccination clinic was one of the last, if not the last, for long-term care facilities in Minot. Staff and residents at Elmcroft received their second doses during the clinic conducted by CVS Pharmacy.

"We were extremely proud to be one of the first through Phase 1 to get the vaccine for our residents. It was a milestone event to get this pandemic one step closer to being behind us," said Arron Turnquist, executive director for Elmcroft of Minot.

Long-term care residents have been part of North Dakota's Phase 1A vaccination priority group. Vaccinations around the state have moved into Phase 1B as 1A has been coming to a close.

COVID-19 vaccinations are required of Elmcroft staff. Turnquist said all residents chose to participate unless they had a health condition that precluded them from doing so.

Elmcroft continues to have certain restrictions in place, such as a mask requirement and screening for all visitors.

Elmcroft of Minot is part of Eclipse Senior Living.
