Zachary Beam, Minot, charged with aggravated assault, terrorizing, fleeing a police officer

Zachary Daniel Beam, 23, Minot, is accused of striking a woman in the face twice, hitting her on the top of the head with a glass wine bottle, and whipping her over 30 times with a belt all over her body on Monday. At one point he allegedly ordered her to make a recording stating that she consented to the assault. He also allegedly threatened to kill her if she went to the police and threatened her relatives.

The woman reported the assault to police. Police searched for Beam and Beam allegedly refused to stop and fled from law enforcement in a motor vehicle.

Beam is charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, Class C felony terrorizing, and Class C felony fleeing from police in a motor vehicle.

He was scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charges on Tuesday before Judge Stacy Louser.
