The powerful wind storm that blew through the Minot area late Wednesday through Thursday impacted more than 8,000 electrical customers. According to Xcel Energy there were 3,450 momentary power outages, 4,550 sustained outages, and more than 45 separate incidents requiring attention from Xcel workers.

Xcel says they brought in contractors from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Fargo and Grand Forks to assist in restoring power to customers. In addition, Excel mobilized their North Dakota vegetation crews to help the high number of downed trees.

According to a statement issued by Xcel at mid-day Friday, they were able to restore service to all customers.
