Janae Tamera Daye-Osman, 31, Dickinson, is charged in district court in Minot with driving drunk with a 2-year-old in the car, a Class A misdemeanor, driving with a revoked driver’s license, her fourth offense, a Class A misdemeanor; and lying to law enforcement about her name, a Class A misdemeanor. The charges relate to an incident on Jan. 12.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Daye-Osman was stopped for speeding in Ward County by a North Dakota Highway Patrolman. The patrolman smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle and she had trouble keeping her balance when he asked her to get out of the patrol car. At first the woman gave one fake name and told the officer that she used to be a man and that she has been going through a sex change over the last few years. That name did not show up in the system. Then Daye-Osman gave another fake name. Eventually she was correctly identified. She refused to complete a chemical test. There was a 2-year-old girl who had been incorrectly buckled into Daye-Osman’s vehicle. An incident report was filed with Social Services.
