Alicia Henry, Minot, charged with breaking into motor vehicle, using stolen debit card to withdraw money

Alicia Anne Henry, 27, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with stealing a woman’s purse and her wallet from her motor vehicle on Oct. 16, 2020, and of attempting to use the victim’s debit card multiple times to withdraw money from ATMs. She was reportedly high on methamphetamine at the time.

She is charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and Class C felony unauthorized use of personal identifying information.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Henry eventually admitted to police that she had relapsed and used methamphetamine in October. She saw car keys lying on the ground near parked vehicles when she left work that night. She pressed a button on the set of keys and used it to open one of the nearby cars. She then stole a purse and wallet containing the victim’s debit card and Social Security card from the car. Henry then walked to one bank and used the victim’s Social Security number to change the PIN number on the account. She then tried and failed to withdraw $1,000 from the account and then successfully withdrew $500 from the victim’s bank account. She then tried again to withdraw $1,000 but was unsuccessful. Henry then went to two other banks and tried to withdraw money using ATMS at those locations, but was again unsuccessful. She then threw the purse and debit card in a dumpster. Henry also said she had kept her face covered when she withdrew or tried to withdraw money from the banks.
