Today is Veterans Day, a day to honor our veterans

Sen. John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Committee, today issued the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day. Since he was elected as governor, Hoeven has normally spent Veterans Day with North Dakota veterans; however, he was unable to attend events in North Dakota today as the Senate is in session this week. To pay tribute to our veterans, Hoeven visited the war memorials on the National Mall.

“Our nation would not be free without the selfless sacrifice of our veterans, and today, our nation honors the bravery of the men and women in uniform who have fought to preserve our way of life,” said Hoeven. “We are grateful for our service members in North Dakota and across this nation, as well as their families, who serve right alongside them. I remain committed to ensuring veterans receive the recognition, benefits and care they have earned as we are thankful not only on Veterans Day, but every day, for the countless sacrifices they have made.”
