Matthew Craig Picolo, 32, Minot, was sentenced earlier this month to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the two days he already served, and two days of supervised probation on a Class C felony criminal trespass charge. He was also ordered to pay $525 in court costs and restitution yet to be determined. The C felony charge will be reduced to a Class A misdemeanor if he successfully completes probation.

According to court documents, Picolo told police he had been having a civil dispute over possession and payment for a snowmobile. On May 4 he pulled up to a southeast Minot address, was heard yelling and screaming, broke out a pane of glass on the screen door, then beat on the door to the locked porch with a sledgehammer until he gained entry. He then took a Suzuki dirt bike that he told police he owned and loaded it into the back of his pickup truck.
