Independence Inc. holds virtual holiday workshops

Independence Inc. will offer festive and free holiday workshops via Zoom.

“Merry Mug Cakes” will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1 via Zoom. Class participants will learn how to prepare a a variety of mug cake recipes and practice following food safety guidelines. The hands-on class will be facilitated by Independent Living Advocate Connie Klein. Klein brings a wealth of cooking experience to her classes and enjoys sharing her passion for meal preparation with North Dakotans with disabilities, according to information provided by Independence Inc.

The registration deadline is Monday or until spots are filled.

Ingredients and cooking utensils will be provided. Items will be delivered to participants in the Minot area. Participants residing outside of city limits may pick up supply kits at Independence, Inc., located at 2000 East Burdick Expressway, Suite C, in Minot.

Independence Inc. will hold another virtual crafting workshop at 4 p.m. Dec. 14 called “Holiday Gnomies.” The activity is free and available to anyone with a physical disability, mental health condition, substance use disorder, cancer, degenerative disease, chronic illness, learning of cognitive disability, phobia, brain injury, or senior citizen. Participants will be provided with a craft kit delivered directly to their home. The registration deadline for this activity is Dec. 7 or until spots are filled.
